This privacy policy explains how Tradesman Office ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit tradesmanoffice.co or interact with our content. We try to be straight with you about what we do and don't do with your data.
What we collect
Information you give us directly. If you sign up for our email list (via the form on most pages), we collect your email address. If you contact us, we collect whatever you put in the message (typically name, email, and the question).
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect standard web analytics data: the pages you view, how long you stay, what site you came from, your approximate location (city/region, not address), the type of device you're using, and similar non-identifying information. This is the same information any website running analytics collects.
What we don't collect. We don't ask for your phone number, mailing address, payment info, or any sensitive personal data. We don't sell information about you. We don't run ads on the site, so we're not tracking you across the web for retargeting purposes.
How we use what we collect
Email addresses are used only to send you our email newsletter. We don't share, sell, or trade them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
Analytics data is used to understand which content is most useful to readers, where visitors come from, and how to improve the site. We don't try to identify individual visitors, and Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymization where applicable.
Contact form messages are read by Jason directly and used only to respond to your inquiry.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies for two purposes:
- Google Analytics, to track aggregate site usage
- MailerLite (our email service), to manage email signups
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but signup forms may not function correctly without them.

Netlify (web hosting; collects standard server logs for security and uptime)
Etsy (when you click through to our shop, you become subject to Etsy's privacy policy at etsy.com/legal/privacy)
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Know what information we have about you (just ask)
- Request deletion of your information from our systems
- Unsubscribe from our email list at any time
- Opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's opt-out add-on
If you're in the European Union, UK, or California, you have specific rights under GDPR or CCPA. We'll honor those rights regardless of where you're based.
Data retention
Email addresses on our newsletter list are kept until you unsubscribe. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default. Contact form messages are kept for the duration of any active conversation, then deleted.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults running contracting businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Substantial changes will also be announced to email subscribers.
